Making Good Use of the Features on Coworks
When it comes to freelancing, who wouldn’t like to do more of this:
• Sort the window shoppers from the opportunities with actual potential
• Keep all the client input for each job in one place
• Be confident there’s a solid business agreement established for each job
• Know for certain you’ll be paid on time
In the spirit of friendly freelancing, having a Coworks account makes all of this easy. Here’s how:
Your Gatekeeper – sorts the window shoppers from those who are ready to buy
Undoubtedly, your profile gets viewed a lot on the portfolio sites. Sometimes by window shoppers, sometimes by serious clients. Make it really easy for those who are ready to order a job by publishing your unique Coworks URL everywhere your portfolio is seen. Clients can click right through and start a job inquiry with you the way it should be done, with proper specs and an intent to purchase.
To find your unique URL:
1. Log in to Coworks
2. In the top nav bar, click on your avatar or name to view your own profile page
3. Publish this unique profile page URL everywhere your portfolio is housed. It’ll make it that much easier for truly interested clients to get new jobs started with you.
Your Admin – keeps all the client input for each job in one place
When you run your work on Coworks, all the input, notes, files, feedback and conversation about your job lives in one central place. You and your client can both see it all, all of the time. This could come in handy, no?
Your Advocate – gives you confidence there’s a solid business agreement established for each job
The Coworks agreement is solid. Terms of service section 4.3-4.4 clearly regulates obligations and rights for both freelancers and clients. Depending on the specifics of your work, you might want to add something to the agreement. Make your additions in the chat dialogue in the Workspace and they will be securely in place for that job. Be as specific as possible and ask your client for acknowledgement of any agreement modifications. It’s reassuring to know you are legally protected when you do business on Coworks.
Your Bookkeeper – makes certain you’ll be paid on time and with the right tax structure
Coworks serves as your loyal bookkeeper in this way. You don’t have worry about emails suddenly going unanswered now that the job is done. And if working internationally appeals to you, the messy tax considerations are correctly managed within the Coworks transaction.
We hope these tips will be helpful for you and your freelance business. As always, comments and questions are welcomed!
